Laurie CarpenterLaurie is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at the Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2018, Laurie earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing with a focus on women’s health.  Throughout the years, Laurie has developed a passion for women’s health and has gained experience as a nurse in women’s health, pediatrics, and surgical recovery. Laurie’s clinical interests include well-woman care, abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception, and adolescent care. In addition, she has experience in care management and as a lactation consultant.

Laurie strongly believes in supporting women and be their partner in their OB and GYN care. She especially enjoys building relationships and working with young women to help them as they establish their healthcare goals and needs.

Laurie is an active member of several professional organizations including the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses; and the Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.

In her spare time, Laurie enjoys paint nights with friends, trips to the lake, and swim meets.
